My partner Seth and I have experienced challenges that many wouldn’t believe we could overcome. For years, we were caught in a cycle of homelessness and drug addiction, living day-to-day without hope for a better future. It was a painful and lonely existence, but our story is one of transformation and resilience.
Our turning point came when we connected with $mall¢hange4BIG, a nonprofit organization that not only believed in us but gave us the tools to start believing in ourselves. They provided us with warm meals when we were hungry, compassionate care when we felt broken, and unwavering support as we began to rebuild our lives.

With their help, we were able to access resources and develop the confidence we needed to get back on our feet. Their guidance inspired us to make the hard but necessary changes to leave addiction behind.

Today, Seth and I are proud to say that we are employed and living together with family. We have rediscovered the joy in life and the love in our relationship. We’re a happy, healthy couple who now look forward to each new day.

As a single mother living in a local shelter, I found myself unable to function without corrective lenses. Fleeing an unsafe living environment meant my young daughter and I lost everything--including my glasses. Knowing it would be more than a year before I qualify for glasses through insurance, the shelter director referred me to $mall¢hange4BIG for help. Their board approved my request and helped me schedule an appointment right away. With new glasses, now I am able to manage day-to-day life while striving to get back on my own feet. 

For my daughter and me, attending the annual Homeless Resource Fair felt like a gift. We could finally relax and enjoy the festive park environment while accessing services that are otherwise spread out across the county. $mall¢hange4BIG made a BIG impact on both our lives, helping us to feel less alone on our journey with homelessness.

After an unexpected litter of puppies, $mall¢hange4BIG is helping me coordinate spay and neuter appointments for all the dogs. I love them all but know this is an important decision to make. 

$mall¢hange4BIG is collaborating with A-PAL Humane Society to ensure this is my last litter and all these adorable little pups have a chance at a healthy future. Knowing there are folks in our community willing to help means the world to me and my pups.
